Hockey Fights Cancer Night
October 17, 2014
presented by OhioHealth
A part of the NHL's Hockey Fights Cancer initiative
As part of the NHL's Hockey Fights Cancer awareness month and in partnership with the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #9 and OhioHealth, the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation welcomes YOU to join us for Hockey Fights Cancer night on Friday, October 17.
We'll be turning Nationwide Arena lavender, the official color of the NHL's Hockey Fights Cancer initiative, and recognizing all of those affected by cancer in our Blue Jackets family. The Foundation specifically will be raising awareness around our fight against pediatric cancer, unveiling our 2014-15 Hats for Heroes hats, selling our "Drop the Gloves Against Cancer" t-shirts, and kicking off our awareness night by introducing you to our new class of pediatric cancer heroes during pre-game introductions.
Together with our corporate partners at Boich Companies, Boehringer Ingelheim and Coldwell Banker, we'll be providing special experiences for kids and families affected by pediatric cancer and hosting them at the game on Friday evening.
The Foundation hosts this annual game to raise awareness and funds for critical research and support programs for the patients and their families. The Foundation has raised over $2 million dollars since 2000 in support of local pediatric cancer programs and research institutions.
With a generous donation by the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #9, representing all Franklin County officers, 100% of the proceeds of Hats For Heroes hat sales will be earmarked for the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation's pediatric cancer initiatives.
